The first Man to undergo a Kidney transplant at Embu Level 5 hospital has died.
Anthony Njiru 36, who was recovering at the ICU, died on Saturday just a day after doctors declared the operation successful.
According to Grace Kombuthi who is the Embu County Chief Health Officer said,the patient passed on having started to respond to treatment with his first urine being monitored.
Kombuthi said the Kidney Obtained from the patients brother was successfully transplanted by a team of surgeons from Moi referral hospital and Embu level 5 hospital.
The operation witnessed by Embu governor Martin Wambora involved a team of highly qualified experts led by Philip Chepget from Moi referral Hospital.
Present during the operation were University of Embu deputy Vice chancellor Kiplagat Kotut and Embu Health Executive Dr Jamleck Muturi.
