Safaricom has opened a second shop in Nakuru town, marking its third strategic investment in the lakeside town. The new shop will provide a smartphone and fibre to the home experience zones, making it the second shop to spot a home experiential zone after the Village Market outlet in Nairobi.
“Today we are opening the second Safaricom shop in Nakuru and this is our 3rd investment in Nakuru. The choice of location was just because of convenience. People can drive in,park their cars and access our services. Anybody traveling from Nairobi and other parts can easily stop and access our services. Am happy to the county government of Nakuru for allowing us to continue investing in this county” Said Head of Department Rift Region, Victor Ngumo
Speaking in Nakuru, Nakuru County Executive Member for Trade, Dr. Peter Ketyenya has welcomed the move saying it will promote economy in the county.
“Am happy that Safaricom have also pledged that they will open service centers in other sub-counties,. They are going to start with Egerton University in Njoro and they will will expand to other sub-counties within the region” Said Ketyenya.
The shop which is located at the Westside Mall, next to the Nairobi-Eldoret Highway will cater to both walk-in customers and customers driving in from Nakuru Town and neighboring areas.
The opening of the company’s 49th shop is part of Safaricom’s Twaweza Live experience in the Rift Region.
Safaricom will also open a Digifarm depot in Burnt Forest to provide farmers in the area with discounted, quality input.
