EAL MP Simon Mbugua and his 2 colleagues were today released by Senior Principal Magistrate Martha Mutuku on Ksh 200,000 cash bail each after denying robbery with violence charges against City Trader Mr. Timothy Mbugua.
Mbugua and his counterparts were charged with violently robbing City trader Mr. Timothy Muriuki of Ksh. 100,000. The three are also accused of injuring him at Hotel Bouvlevard in Nairobi when goons hijacked his presser meeting last week.
The four including Mr. Stephene Sangira who was arrested on Tuesday and was not charged as the police said they found no evidence were arrested at the Sagret Hotel where they were taken to Nairobi central Police station.
Magistrate Mutuku ordered them to deposit their ID cards in court as the case is set to be heard again on 18th July 2018.
